Kawai CR-45 is a special model that combines a professional acoustic grand piano mechanism with a fully transparent Crystal Grand design. The 187 cm long body features real acoustic strings, a solid spruce soundboard, and a full grand piano action; the transparent exterior turns the mechanism, the cast-iron frame, and the instrument’s internal architecture into part of a visual composition.

Crystal Grand design

The transparent body makes the CR-45 a unique instrument for concert stages, presentations, premium events, and architecturally distinguished interiors. The design does not just create a visual effect: the piano maintains Kawai’s acoustic sound and mechanical principles. Double nickel-plated casters, a stepless angle-adjustable music rest, and two lid props complement the functionality with a unique look.

Millennium III action

The Millennium III action uses ABS-Carbon components. Reinforced with carbon fiber, these parts are lightweight, rigid, and dimensionally stable; as a result, the action provides a responsive reaction that is agile for repeated notes, sensitive in soft dynamics, and controlled in powerful performance. NEOTEX surfaces on both white and black keys create a uniform texture and comfortable touch.

Acoustic sound system

The tapered solid spruce soundboard converts string vibrations into a full and resonant tone. Agraffes for keys 1–54 stabilize the precise position and speaking length of the strings. Front and rear duplex scaling enhances the harmonic richness of the high register; four back posts and a V-Pro cast-iron frame create a sturdy construction that supports string tension.
