Keyboard and Touch
The Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action of the Kawai CX202 uses 88 grade-weighted keys to replicate the feel of an acoustic piano as naturally as possible. Thanks to the triple-sensor system, repeated notes respond faster and more accurately, creating finer control during performance.
Matte-surface keys provide comfort during long practice sessions, while the distinct weighting in the bass and treble regions recalls the natural balance found in an acoustic piano. For this reason, the CX202 provides a convincing touch for both beginners and serious pianists.
Sound Quality
The primary sound source of the CX202 is the sampled sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand. Harmonic Imaging (HI) technology creates natural dynamic transitions from pianissimo to fortissimo, while preserving tonal depth and warmth.
The 192-note maximum polyphony ensures that notes do not cut off during complex pieces. Damper Resonance and 6 different reverb effects make the instrument's sound feel more vibrant and akin to a concert hall.
The 40W stereo speaker system is powerful enough to comfortably fill mid-sized rooms. The Low Volume Balance function maintains tone balance and touch sensitivity even at lower volume levels.
Functions and Connectivity
The CX202 connects wirelessly to smartphones, tablets, and laptops with Bluetooth® Audio and Bluetooth® MIDI support. This facilitates working with practice apps as well as playing audio from phones and computers.
With the PianoRemote app, it is possible to control sounds, settings, and Virtual Technician functions from a phone. The PiaBookPlayer app displays musical scores on the screen and makes page-turning easier with compatible pedal support.
The internal lesson system includes Burgmüller, Czerny, Beyer, and Alfred materials. Dual, Split, Four Hands, Transpose, metronome, and recording functions make the practice process more flexible and productive.
Design
The CX202 stands out with a simple, elegant cabinet design that suits home interiors. Soft curved side panels, a sturdy stand structure, a sliding key cover, and a folding music rest provide both aesthetic appeal and practical use. A depth of only 40.5 cm makes the instrument suitable for apartment conditions.
The model is available in three different colors: Premium Rosewood, Premium Satin Black, and Premium Satin White. Thus, it is possible to choose the piano to match both music and space aesthetics.
