The MEINL company was founded in 1951 by Roland Meinl. Initially engaged in the production of wind instruments, the company's first cymbals were manufactured in 1952. These cymbals were cut from large metal sheets, then hand-hammered, lathed, and drilled by Roland Meinl himself. He would subsequently transport these cymbals personally on his bicycle to the railway station for shipment. Following these humble beginnings, MEINL has evolved into one of the world's leading percussion instrument manufacturers today.
