The MEINL company was founded in 1951 by Roland Meinl. Originally engaged in the production of wind instruments, the company's first cymbals were manufactured in 1952. These cymbals were cut from large metal sheets, then hand-hammered, lathed, and drilled by Roland Meinl himself. He would later personally transport these cymbals to the railway station on his bicycle to ship them. From these humble beginnings, MEINL has grown into one of the world's leading percussion instrument manufacturers today.
MEINL HCS cymbals are designed for beginners and student musicians. Made of durable brass alloy, they maintain their tone and are resistant to drumstick strikes. These cymbals are recommended for beginner performers to use as they explore various musical styles.
