Petrof Grand piano P 173 Breeze Rococo - Akustik Royal

PETROF P 173 Breeze Rococo acoustic grand piano

PETROF P 173 Breeze Rococo presents the romantic sound of the 173 cm Breeze platform within a white, patinated Rococo-style cabinet featuring rich carved details. Behind its decorative appearance, the instrument houses a fully professional acoustic grand piano action.

PETROF’s European grand piano tradition

PETROF continues the Czech piano-making tradition founded in 1864 by Antonín Petrof. In the Style Collection line, the high degree of manual craftsmanship, selected European materials, and individual voicing tailored to the model form PETROF's recognized soft, rounded, and romantic tonal character.

Resonance spruce soundboard

The soundboard, made of resonance spruce with an active area of 1.293 m², is thinned according to the model's scale. 11 ribs support the soundboard's flexibility and the even distribution of string energy. The result is a warm fundamental tone in the bass, a singing timbre in the mid-register, and a clear, yet non-harsh projection in the treble.

Construction and tonal stability

The cast-iron frame, manufactured using the wet sand casting method, withstands high string tension. A multi-layer beech pinblock, an inner rim constructed from layers of beech and maple, sturdy maple bridges, and German-made Röslau steel strings work together for resonance transmission, tuning stability, and long-term durability. Copper agraffes for keys 1–53 and front-rear duplex scales precisely control the speaking length and harmonic structure of the strings.

Action, keyboard, and pedals

The PETROF, RENNER ORIGINAL, or RENNER–PETROF configuration action transfers the pianist's touch to the hammer in a fast and controlled manner. German-made hammer heads are individually voiced for each instrument. Tangentially cut spruce keys are individually balanced with lead, and ebony wood is used for the black keys. Unacorda, sostenuto, and sustain pedals provide full expressive capabilities for the classical grand piano repertoire; a hydraulic soft-close fallboard makes daily use safe.

Design

Hand-carved elements in the Rococo style, white high-gloss finish, and patinated decoration give each instrument an individual character.
