PETROF continues the Czech piano-making tradition founded by Antonín Petrof in 1864. The Master Series line features a high share of manual labor, selected European materials, and individual voicing tailored to the model, forming PETROF's recognizable soft, rounded, and romantic tonal character.

Resonance spruce soundboard

Crafted from resonance spruce with an active area of 1.401 m², the soundboard is tapered to match the model's string scale. 13 ribs support the elasticity of the soundboard and the even distribution of string energy. The result is a warm fundamental tone in the bass, a singing timbre in the middle register, and a clear, yet non-harsh projection in the treble.

Construction and tonal stability

The cast-iron frame, manufactured using the wet sand casting method, supports high string tension. A multi-layered beech pinblock, an inner rim constructed from layers of beech and maple, solid maple bridges, and German Röslau steel strings work together for resonance transmission, tuning stability, and long-term durability. Brass agraffes for keys 1–50 and front-rear duplex scales precisely control the speaking length and harmonic structure of the strings.

Action, keyboard, and pedals

The RENNER–PETROF action transmits the pianist's touch to the hammers quickly and with control. German-made hammer heads are individually voiced for each instrument. Tangentially cut spruce keys are individually balanced with lead, with ebony wood used for the black keys. Unacorda, sostenuto, and sustain pedals provide full expressive possibilities for the classical grand piano repertoire; a hydraulic slow-close fallboard ensures safety in daily use.
