PETROF P 118 D1 Demi-Chippendale Acoustic Piano

PETROF P 11 8 D1 Demichippendale acoustic piano

PETROF P 118 D1 Demichippendale combines a 118 cm acoustic action with the elegant lines of the Demichippendale style and a wide range of finish options. Its tonal core preserves the soft and romantic sound character of PETROF.

Style Collection and PETROF sound character

PETROF's tradition of piano manufacturing in the Czech Republic, dating back to 1864, focuses on creating a soft, rounded, and romantic tone through the use of resonance spruce, a model-specific string scale, and individual voicing. In the Style Collection line, the PETROF P 118 D1 Demichippendale offers bass depth appropriate to its height, a singing mid-register, and clear treble.

Resonance spruce soundboard

The resonance spruce soundboard, with an active area of 1.0605 m², is reinforced with 9 ribs. The soundboard profile is designed to translate string vibrations into a wide dynamic range and balanced register transitions. The wet sand-cast iron frame, multi-layer pinblock, and maple bridges maintain string tension to ensure tuning stability.

Action and keyboard

The PETROF upright action and individually voiced hammer heads ensure fast and precise transmission of touch. The 88 keys create a natural sense of resistance from bass to treble. The left piano pedal softens the tone, the middle moderator pedal reduces volume for quiet practice, and the right forte pedal lifts the dampers to release resonance.

Construction and daily use

Röslau steel strings, a solid wooden back frame, and a hydraulic soft-close fallboard create a reliable structure for long-term study and practice. The soft lines of the Demichippendale can be customized with black, white, walnut, mahogany, and other finish options.
